Generous aromas of blackcurrant and sweet cassis lead to intense blackcurrant and vanilla flavours that fill the palate. Then spicy, savoury notes of rhubarb and star anise mix in towards the finish adding gentle complexity.
Casas del Bosque was founded in 1993 by Juan Cuneo Solari and was one of the first wineries in the Casablanca Valley. Today it is still family-owned and managed. The Solaris have 245 hectares of vines in Santa Rosa on the west side of the Casablanca Valley. Their Cabernet Sauvignon is produced from their own 35 year old vines growing in Quinta Tilcoco in the more southerly Rapel Valley. For us, the wines had the perfect balance of ripe fruit and subtle elegance making them refined rather than sweet fruit bombs.
